Beersheba
1. It had been a place of peace for Abraham (Genesis 21:31)
2. It had been a place of connection with God for Abraham (Genesis 21:33)
3. It had been a place of rest for Abraham & Isaac (Genesis 22:19, 26:33)

Bethel
*Bethel had been a place of connection with God for Abraham (Gen 12:8)
Lessons from the road
1. God initiates His relationship with us (Genesis 28:12)
2. God wants His Lordship to be personal with us (Genesis 28:13)
3. God wants His promises to be extended to us (Genesis 28:14-15)
4. God travels with us (Genesis 28:16-17)
5. We should memorialize places of connection with God (28:18-19)
6. We should commit to God in response to His love (28:20-21)
7. We should be ready and willing to give to God (28:22)

What thoughts may have crossed Jacob’s mind…
1. When he saw the well? (29:1-3)
2. When the shepherds knew his relatives? (29:4-8)
3. When he met Rachel? (29:9-12)
4. When he met Laban? (29:13-14)
At any given time in our lives, we are either in a comfort zone (Beersheba), in transition (Bethel) or at the start of something new (Paddam Aram). This section of Scripture has provided us some great lessons for the journey of life.
