Religious Teaching Regarding Love for Neighbors & Enemies
1. Almost every religion teaches us to love our neighbor
2. It is quite easy to love our neighbor (but who is our neighbor? Luke 10:25-37)
3. Some religions teach that we should hate our enemies
4. It is quite easy to hate our enemies
Jesus’ Teaching Regarding Love for Neighbors & Enemies
1. Do good to them (L-27)
2. Bless them (L-28)
3. Pray for them (L-28, M-44)
4. Let them hit you (L-29)
5. Let them steal from you (L-29/30)
6. Give when they ask you for something (L-30)
7. Treat them how you want to be treated (L-31)
8. Lend to them without expecting it back (L-35)
9. Be merciful (L-36)
10. Greet them (M-47)
The end result is treating enemies as you would a friend.
