HOW ARE WE FED SPIRITUALLY?

5 RULES FOR THE CHRISTIAN STUDENT
1. Don’t automatically BELIEVE every word you hear or read 1a
2. TEST what you hear/read/see 1b (acts 17:11)
3. Understand that many false prophets have GONE out 1c
4. RECOGNIZE the Spirit of God 2a
5. Make sure they ACKNOWLEDGE who Jesus is 2b-3

4 POINTS TO PONDER ABOUT FALSE PROPHETS
1. Their leader is a loser 4
2. Their worldview is wacky 5a
3. Their fame is of the flesh 5b
4. They cannot be corrected 6

LOVE

1. Love originates from God 8b, 16b
a. So much so that God IS love
b. It’s not something He does so much as it is who He is

2. Love Emanates from God 7b, 9
a. So it’s actually Himself that He sends…Jesus Christ

3. Resides in mankind 12-13, 15-16
a. So it’s actually Himself that lives in us...Holy Spirit

4. Passes through mankind 7a, 11b, 20-21
a. Love one another
b. So it’s actually God shining through us
c. Love is not so much something we show, as it is someone we know

LOVE IS NOT

1. God 8b, 16b
a. God is personal, not a vague concept, a specific Person

2. Human in origin 19

3. Optional for Christians 8, 20-21
a. If you want to know God, you must have God in you
b. If you have God in you, you must love your neighbor

4. A feeling 9-10, 13
a. Sent, Given. It implies action.
b. “I don’t love him/her anymore” EXACTLY

5. Failing 17-18
a. If we apply 1 John 4:7-21 we have nothing to fear in the future
