Luke 8:40-56
Luke 8:40-48
The Sick Woman
Observations about this Woman
She had a PROBLEM that wasn’t going away
She had a problem that the WORLD couldn’t fix
She was determined to find a solution
She had FAITH in Jesus’ power
The bleeding stopped when she connected with JESUS
Questions to Consider
Why did Jesus ask, “who touched me?”
--I don't think he knew who touched her, but he wanted to
What was different about this woman’s touch?
--It was a touch of faith
Is it possible to be in God’s presence and not be changed?
--Of course, people do it every week
Is faith the only factor in healing?
--No, God's will is the key factor
Luke 8:49-56
The Dead Girl
Points to Ponder
Our position shouldn’t prevent us from expressing need
Our faith can impact the life of another
Jesus is NOT bothered by our requests
The power of Jesus knows no bounds
Some people are invited to see greater miracles than others
1st century Jews often HIRED professional mourners
Jesus sometimes referred to death as ‘sleep’ in light of resurrection
Jesus has further direction for us even AFTER the gift of life
Why do you think Jesus ordered the parents not to spread the news?
--This was probably either to delay his inevitable arrest or to assure that only the Father received glory for miracles
