Jesus Sends the 12

1. Power without authority is dangerous
2. Authority without power is meaningless
3. As Christians we have the authority (Jesus) & the means (Spirit)
4. This was basically ministry practice for the Twelve

Practice Ministry Finances
---They were not to rely on their own resources
---They were to give those ministered to a chance to give
---They were to leave unfruitful areas
This taught the disciples that God could be Trusted
This was not to be the norm, or forgotten (Luke 22:35)

A Significant Miracle
This is the only miracle recorded in all 4 Gospels
This miracle made them want to make him king by force (John 6:15)
Jesus used this event as a test for the disciples (John 6:5-6)
They were supposed to learn that Jesus provides (Matthew 16:8-10)
