SOLOMON’S THE KING
The Life of Adonijah
Now Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith, put himself forward and said, “I will be king”
1. He hadn’t received proper parenting
2. He took action w/o his father’s approval
3. He put on a big show, but their was no substance
David’s Charge to Solomon
When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son
1. Be a man
2. Listen to God
3. Deal with problems
4. Reward good behavior
The early Reign of Solomon
So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his rule was firmly established
1. He made an alliance with Egypt
2. He delegated authority
3. He taxed the people
4. He gave good jobs to family
5. He experienced great peace & prosperity
