Don’t wait to live your life (11:1-10)
Don’t wait to get right with God (12:1-14)

Fruitful toil is found in the Lord (1a)
Faithful security is found in the Lord (1b-2)
Family blessing is from the Lord (3-5)
6. Solomon’s Psalm #2 (Psalm 72)
Solomon’s vision for his descendant…
He will be just (1a, 2b, 4, 12-14)
He will be righteous (1b, 2a, 3)
He will reign for many generations (5, 15, 17)
His reign will be prosperous (6-7, 15, 16)
His reign will expand to all the earth (8, 15, 17)
His reign will be powerful (9-11)
His reign will be to the glory of God (18-19)
7. The end of the end (1 Kings 11:41-43)
As for the other events in Solomon’s reign – all he did and the wisdom he displayed – are they not written in the book of the annals of Solomon? Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. Then he rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king.
8. A New Beginning (Matthew 1:6,7a, 16, 12:42)
David was the father of Solomon, who mother had been Uriah’s wife, Solomon the father of Rehoboam…And Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. (Matthew 1:6-7a, 16)
“And now one greater than Solomon is here.”
