Elijah was at the toughest point in his life
--Afriad (19:3)
--Alone (19:4, 10, 14)
--In the desert (19:4)
--Hopeless (19:4)
--Exhausted (19:5, 6, 9)

Why do you think God chose Elisha
--He was hard-working (19:19)
--He was fully committed (19:20-21)
--He was loyal (19:20)
--He was a servant (19:21)
--He was patient (unmentioned in the rest of 1 Kings)

* The situation was positive both directions.
** We need to develop situations like this in our churches

2. Be grateful for your role models (2 Kings 2:1-9)
--He followed him from Gilgal (Beginnings)
--He followed him from Bethel (Prayer)
--He followed him from Jericho (Battle)
--He followed him from Jordan (Transition)

*Great Question to ask..."what can i do for you before I'm taken from you"
