The first Christians and the Temple (3:1)
1. The first Christians continued to be Jewish
2. The first Christians continued to pray at the temple
3. The first Christians continued to utilize the synagogues
4. The first Christians began to utilize their homes
5. The first Christians began to realize they are the temple
~ How natural is it to become attached to a structure?
~ How should Christians approach church building projects?
The healing of the crippled man (3:2-11)
1. There were provisions within the law to help the poor
2. This man, however, was totally at the mercy of others
3. The disciples had, almost certainly, seen him before
4. There is something much greater than money to give
5. This event created the crowd for the second sermon
~ Why do you think God healed some and not others?
~ What is the most important thing we can give?
The second sermon of Peter (3:12-26)
1. He reminded them that healing was part of Messianic ministry
2. He gave all the credit to Jesus
3. He based his sermon on falsifiable evidence
4. He showed that this was God’s plan all along
5. He gave a re-definition for what it mean to be an Israelite
~ Was this sermon confrontational?
~ How can you become a true Israelite?
