Are demons and evil-spirits the same?
In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit. (Luke 4:33)

Are demons/evil-spirits and fallen-angels the same?
God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; (2 Ptr. 2:4)… And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home—these he has kept in darkness (Jude 1:6)

Are demons/evil-spirits behind false religions?
They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. They sacrificed to demons, which are not God (Deut. 32:16-17)… The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (1 Timothy 4:1)… No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. (1 Cor. 10:20)

Are demons/evil-spirits ignorant of truth?
“What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” (Mark 1:24)… "What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?" (Matthew 8:29)… You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. (James 2:19)
Are all sicknesses caused by demons?
News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them. (Matthew 4:24)

What does demon-possession produce?
Two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way (Mt 8:28)… A demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see (Mt 12:22)… It immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth…."It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him.” (Mk 9:20-22)

How do we overcome demons/evil-spirits?
We saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop (Mk 9:38)… The evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. (Acts 19:15-16)… "This kind can come out only by prayer." (Mark 9:29)… The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." (Luke 10:17)

Theories of Origin
1. They fell with Lucifer and do his work
2. They are descendants of angel/human relations
3. They are God’s testing-agents
