D-Day (4:12-17)
The Gospel According to Matthew
Jesus for President (Part 9: D-Day)
When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he returned to Galilee. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah
The Darkness “The People living in darkness”
The Fall, Judges, Kings, Prophets (And these were the good guys!)
Devil had the world in darkness
The Dawn “Have seen a great light”
Jesus brought great victory, the beginning of light
John 12:31, Mark 3:27, Col. 2:15, Hebrews 2:14, 1 John 3:8
The Development “Repent”
But Jesus left (John 9:5), there remains a problem (John 1:5, 3:19, 2 Cor. 4:4)
We (those 'in Christ') are the solution (Eph. 5:8, 1 Thes. 5:5, 1 Ptr 2:9, 1 John 2:8, Phil 2:15)
The Day “For the kingdom of heaven is near”
1 Cor. 4:5
