Faith Vs. Reason?
What’s this guys definition of faith?
“I don’t see faith as a virtue. It’s wishful thinking. To me, faith is a term used when a belief has no good reason to be believed. If there was good reason, you wouldn’t need faith. Faith is like admitting that you can’t rationally support what you believe, but that’s OK anyway. Someone came along and came up with the idea that faith is a virtue and now nobody has to question that we believe stuff that has no evidence and isn’t very rational.”
Does this guy find belief in 'A higher power' unreasonable?
“Biological discoveries… discoveries about the chemistry… the integrated complexity argument… If the integrated complexity of the physical world is a good reason, as Einstein clearly thought it was, of believing there was an intelligence behind it, then this argument applies… to the inordinately greater integrated complexity of the living world. This is just obvious. That argument is much stronger now."
"If faith is what allows people to believe what flies in the face of reality, faith has a problem”
