Simon-Peter “A Walking Contradiction”
1. Peter walked on water, but took his eyes off Jesus (mt. 14:22-32)
2. Peter confessed Christ, but then rebuked Jesus (mt. 16:13-23)
3. Peter witnessed transfiguration, but then stuck foot in mouth (mt. 17:1-5)
4. Peter prepared passover, but wouldn’t let Jesus wash feet (jn. 13:5-10)
5. Peter was invited to watch and pray, but fell asleep (mk. 14:32-42)
6. Peter risked his life for Jesus, but did it with violence (jn. 18:1-11)
7. Peter followed Jesus thru trials, but denied him 3 times (jn. 18:12-27)
What were his mistakes
1. Took eyes off Jesus
2. Thought his ways were better
3. Failed to stand in awe
4. Refused to be ministered to
5. Bigger talk than walk
6. Used worldly methods
