Settling Disputes (6:1-20)
Oh, and speaking of judging within the church family...
Settle Matters in-house
1. Saints make better judges than the ungodly
2. You'll judge serious things, why go to the ungodly for comparatively trivial matters
3. Even Christian men of little account should be sufficient to judge such matters
4. Certainly someone should be wise enough to make a decision!
5. It conveys a very sad message about the church to the unbelievers
6. You shouldn't even have these types of disputes going on!
7. You should be the offended, not the offenders!
8. Why would you wrong someone that is your own brother?
9. If you act in these ways, you aren't living the Christian life
10. You have everything you need (in Christ) to NOT live like this
Don't take the 'everything is permissible for me' quote too far
1. Just b/c it's permissible doesn't mean it's beneficial (you can does not equal you should)
2. Just b/c it's permissible doesn't mean we should let it control us
3.
