24-27 (Remnant Realities)
Chapters 24-27 can be interpreted as concerning the final judgment of the world (using translation 'earth') or of a judgment of Israel (using translation 'land'). The Hebrew word allows for both translations. In favor of the global interpretation is the plural form of 24:21. In favor of the local interpretation is the covenant language of 24:5-6. In any case the passage is about judgment and the remnant that would return/remain after judgment (24:6, 13). Below are some realities concerning this remnant:
1. The remnant will be made up of people from East to West that rejoice (24:14-16)
2. The remnant will be made up of people who recognize their need for God (25:4)
3. The remnant will be made up of people from all nations (25:6)
4. The remnant will be made up of people who no longer need to fear death (25:7-8)
5. The remnant will be made up of people who trust in the Lord (25:9)
6. The remnant will be made up of people who are righteous (26:2)
7. The remnant will be made up of people who seek after God (26:8-9)
8. The remnant will be made up of people who will have resurrection bodies (26:19)
9. The remnant will be made up of people who will be fruitful (27:6)
10. The remnant will be made up of people whose sins are atoned for (27:9)
